The Brief:
BMS Technologies challenged us to design and build a 6m x 3m exhibition stand that would stand out within a highly competitive Solar & Storage exhibition environment. The stand needed to do more than showcase products — it had to be instantly memorable, promote BMS’s off-grid energy systems and reflect the company’s roots in Tewksbury, on the edge of the Cotswolds.
The objective was to create an engaging, impressionable space that balanced technical product display with storytelling, warmth and approachability — allowing BMS to connect with delegates on both a professional and human level.
The Concept:
Rather than presenting BMS purely as a technology provider, we focused on telling the story of where the company comes from. The result was a bold, immersive concept: a West Country pub named “The Off Grid Arms” — a playful yet purposeful environment that celebrated BMS’s heritage while cleverly framing their off-grid solutions in a relatable, real-world setting.
The stand was designed to work on two levels:
- Inside — a fully immersive pub interior that showcased the BMS journey and created a welcoming hospitality-led environment
- Outside — a clear, informative display of BMS’s off-grid systems, ensuring the technology remained front and centre

The Design & Build
The structure was designed to be fully immersive, with the aim that the moment delegates stepped onto the stand, they felt transported away from the exhibition hall and into a traditional country pub.
To achieve this, the walls of the structure were clad using printed SEG graphics featuring Cotswolds stone, delivering the texture and charm of traditional local architecture. Real timber beams were used to support the pitched roof, adding authenticity and reinforcing the pub aesthetic from every angle.
At the heart of the stand sat a bespoke-built pub bar, complete with bar seating, snacks and a fully operational Hawkstone Lager tap — a detail that instantly brought the concept to life. Behind the bar, a TV screen supported storytelling and content, further immersing visitors in the BMS brand and journey.
The combination of materials, lighting and layout created a warm, inviting environment that encouraged delegates to slow down, relax and engage in conversation — a stark and effective contrast to the surrounding show floor.
Brand Integration & Visibility
Extending the experience beyond the pub interior, we introduced a pub garden area that served a dual purpose. This outdoor-inspired zone showcased BMS’s Victron off-grid systems, clearly demonstrating the products in a practical, accessible way while remaining fully aligned with the overall theme.
The garden also functioned as an open seating area, giving the BMS sales team a more relaxed space to continue conversations, discuss products in detail and build meaningful relationships with visitors.
This thoughtful zoning ensured the stand delivered both strong product visibility and high-quality engagement, without compromising the immersive nature of the concept.
The Result
The Off Grid Arms proved to be a true show-stopper. The familiar, heritage-led environment immediately drew attention, inviting delegates to step inside, explore and stay longer. By combining strong storytelling with immersive design and practical product display, the stand created an experience that was both memorable and commercially effective.
The project demonstrated how a bold creative concept, rooted in brand heritage, can elevate a compact exhibition footprint into a standout destination — delivering engagement, conversation and connection in equal measure.
For BMS Technologies, the result was a stand that not only showcased their off-grid expertise, but also celebrated who they are and where they come from — leaving delegates with a lasting impression long after the show closed.
