SHOCKWAVE CX SYMPOSIUM

The Brief:

Shockwave Medical required a 10m x 5m corner stand for CX Symposium 2024 that would support thought leadership, education and hospitality within a single, cohesive environment. The stand needed to accommodate live speaker sessions while also providing a welcoming space for delegates to relax, network and engage with the brand.

Key to the brief was visibility. As a leading medical technology brand, Shockwave Medical needed a stand that would be seen from across the exhibition hall, attract footfall and clearly communicate credibility — without overwhelming delegates or relying on a single, dominant brand colour.

The Experience Vision

Our vision was to create a structured yet inviting stand that balanced authority with approachability. By zoning the space into distinct speaker and hospitality areas, we allowed the stand to flex throughout the event — transitioning seamlessly between presentation-led moments and informal networking.

The experience was designed to feel intuitive: delegates could immediately understand where to go, how to engage and when to stay, whether attending a talk, grabbing a coffee or having a conversation.

The Design & Build

The stand was carefully zoned into two primary areas: a dedicated speakers lounge and a coffee-led hospitality zone. A cleverly integrated storage cupboard projected from the back wall, acting as a subtle architectural divider between the two spaces while providing essential back-of-house functionality.

On the right-hand side, the coffee lounge was designed as a relaxed, self-serve hospitality area. A recessed unit housed an under-counter fridge, coffee machine and refreshments, allowing delegates to help themselves without disrupting the flow of the stand. This approach encouraged dwell time and created a natural gathering point throughout the day.

To the left-hand side, the speakers area delivered strong visual and experiential impact. A striking 4-metre triangular tower formed the architectural centrepiece of the stand, visible from across the exhibition hall and drawing delegates in. Integrated into the inner face of the tower was an 85-inch screen, providing a bold platform for presentations and supporting content.

Directly in front of the tower, a purpose-built stage and lectern were positioned to host guest speakers, complemented by a dedicated seating area for up to 16 delegates. This created a focused yet accessible environment for live talks, enabling Shockwave Medical to position itself as a leader in education and innovation within the sector.

The Result

The finished stand delivered a confident, high-impact presence . The bold tower structure ensured Shockwave Medical could be seen from all areas of the hall, driving footfall and awareness, while the clear zoning supported both structured speaker sessions and informal hospitality.

Delegates were drawn in by the inviting coffee lounge and stayed to engage with presentations, demonstrations and conversations. The thoughtful balance between education, hospitality and brand storytelling allowed Shockwave Medical to connect meaningfully with visitors, reinforce expertise and create a memorable exhibition experience.

The result was a stand that successfully combined scale, structure and warmth — supporting Shockwave Medical’s position as a leader in the field while delivering an environment designed around people, conversation and knowledge sharing.
